Miller Mott

My name is Miller Mott, while I am pursuing a career in aviation I am still available as a freelance journalist and photographer.

As a journalist it is my aspiration to document and expose the world around me. Through aesthetic, compelling, and creative photojournalism. I have my bachelor in science in communication, with a focus in multimedia journalism from the University of North Florida, as well as a double minor in geography and environmental studies.

I am a lifelong medical professional, from lifeguarding on both of Florida's coasts, to ski patrolling in Vermont's Green Mountains, I have dedicated my life to helping others.

I have a background in action and adventure sports. I have been mountain biking, cycling, surfing, climbing, free diving, skiing, skating, running, and traveling since a young age. Through those vehicles I evolved a strong urge to document the adventures I had, and the athletes around me, doing the same exciting things I was. A deep knowledge of the sports I documented helped me not only keep up with those I shot, but understand the key elements an athlete looks for in a photograph.

I am experienced in Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere, and ESRI GIS software. I am also knowledgeable on social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, VSCO, and Google Plus.

I have extensive leadership experience I gained through 6 years of Lifeguarding at NAS Pensacola. I was placed in leadership positions starting at the age 16, and worked my way up to be a lead guard of facilities as early as age 17. I lead over some people who were older than me, and had to find ways to earn their respect and admiration to be an effective leader.

I gained comprehensive experience interacting with patrons while lifeguarding, teaching surf camp, and working in the restaurant business. Interactions I encountered ranged from enabling, to damage control, and situation diffusion. I always look for ways to go above and beyond help those who I am there to serve.

I am passionate about the things I do, and I am motivated more by helping others than by monetary means. I am confident I can be a positive and effective team player in any job situation.
